The University of Silesia undertakes to ensure the availability of its website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital availability of websites and mobile applications of public entities. The declaration of availability applies to the website zdalny.us.edu.pl.

Everyone has the right to request the digital availability of the website, mobile app or any of their elements. You can also request sharing information by alternative access method, e.g. by reading a digitally unavailable document, describing film content without audio description, etc. The request should contain the data of the person making the request, specification of the website or mobile app and method of contact. If the person making the request reports the need to obtain information using an alternative access method, they should also determine the convenient method of presenting such information. The public entity should fulfil the request immediately, not later than within 7 days from the date of submitting the request. Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
Availability of entrance to the building: The main entrance to the building is located at ul. Bankowa 11 and equipped with four independent door wings. The entrance is situated from the western part. Platforms for people with disabilities were installed at the main entrance in order to overcome the differences in levels. Near the entrance there is a porter’s lodge, which is an information desk at the same time. Walking through the control areas: The access control of the escape door has been installed in the building. The doors are opened with magnetic cards only by authorised employees. Other users can open doors from the internal side only in emergency cases (fire, explosion, evacuation etc.) by means of buttons installed at the door wings, which should be broken to gain access. The access control is also installed near the external lift, whose cabin door leads directly to the building (corridor ground floor). Access to the cabin door is only for the authorised individuals. Customers can use the entrance by calling for help using the button placed near the lift or calling phone no. 32 359-1108 from 7 AM to 7 PM in order to get access. Employees and students with restricted mobility can obtain a card which is issued for a specific period of time in the Dean’s Office, room no. 7, providing support for students with disabilities and special needs, phone no. 32 359-1807, or building administrator, room no. P 410A, ul. Bankowa 14 phone no. 32 359-1179 or 502-622-899.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
Availability of corridors:
Corridors in the building ensure easy movement. Their width is appropriate for collision-free movement of pedestrians and on wheelchairs. There are no differences of levels in the traffic part. Platforms for the disabled have been installed near the symposium halls and in the main entrance zone with stairs. Ground floor: you can get to the corridor from which there is access to the lecture room, lecturers’ rooms, changing room and canteen directly from the ground floor using the external lift on the side of the Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library (eastern side of the building). It is recommended using the external lift in order to get to this storey. It is also possible to get to the rooms located on the ground floor from the main entrance level, however, this is not recommended due to the necessity to use a number of platforms in this situation. Ground floor: you can get from the main entrance to the building using platforms for the disabled. It is possible to get to the student service zone using the external lift on the side of the Centre for Scientific Information and Academic Library. 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor: you can get from the main entrance to the building using platforms for the disabled and the internal passenger lift (currently under renovation). You can also use the external lift. 4th floor: you can get from the main entrance to the building using platforms for the disabled and the internal passenger lift (currently under renovation). In the corridor on the 4th storey, in order to get to the symposium hall III, go to the right entrance and use the platform for the disabled.
Availability of stairs:
The building has four independent staircases. In order to exit from the building, follow the internal staircases leading to the main entrance. The external staircases lead to emergency exits and allow for moving between the storeys. In order to get to the symposium hall III on the fourth storey, follow the internal staircase in segment “A”. The stairs are equipped with handrails and railings.
Availability of lifts:
The building has 2 passenger lifts (internal and external) and 6 platforms for the disabled. Publicly available internal passenger lift: access from the main entrance to the building. It serves the ground floor, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor (currently under renovation). External passenger lift: access from the eastern side of the building (Scientific Information Centre and Academic Library). Called with a magnetic card, which can be obtained in the Dean’s Office, room 7 providing support for students with disabilities and special needs, phone no. 32 359-1807 or building administrator, P 410A Bankowa 14 phone no. 32 359-1179 or 502-622-899. The external platform from the side of the right main entrance is served by security employees. You can call for help by pressing the button located on the right side of the lift (level „0”) or by calling no. 32 359-1108. Internal platforms on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th storeys are served by the security employees.

Lifts, platforms for the disabled. On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd storeys there are telephones for the disabled, which enable them to contact the security if it is necessary to call for help. There are designated sanitary facilities for the disabled in the building. There are devices for calling for help installed in the sanitary facilities.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
The entrance to the building was adapted for the disabled already at the design stage. No barriers, stairs etc. Flat, puzzled surface. In the winter period, the main entrance (puzzled area of approximately 30 m² ) is connected to the central heating system, thanks to which there is no problem of icy surface. The building is publicly available, only suspicious individuals and situations reported to the security by the system monitoring office and individuals staying in the building are subject to control.

The building is equipped with two lifts with easy access for the disabled from the level of all floors and garage, which they enter on the basis of special access cards. It is also possible to use the so-called glazed lift located in the main hall of the building, which serves two floors (2nd floor - e.g. Dean’s Office for full-time studies, 1st floor - e.g. Dean’s Offices for part-time studies). You can access all corridors using the lifts.

The underground garage is available for all disabled students. There are toilets adapted for the disabled at every floor.

The car park is publicly available. There are about 150 parking spaces, entrance to the car park from the side of ul. Bankowa / Uniwersytecka. Access on the basis of parking cards for students and employees, and according to the price list for others.  Car park allocated to the building, based on a lease agreement. The so-called ‘envelopes’ are marked in visible places and painted with blue paint with white ‘X’ and additional information boards. Number of envelopes: 3. For students with disability certificate we provide the possibility of using the underground car park without incurring any additional fees.

The entrance for the disabled is located near the main entrance to the building, and pavement made of concrete blocks and ramp made of safety tiles leads there. Available movement area near the entrance 130 x 150 cm, width of automatically sliding entrance doors 110 cm, opened with a button near the doors. The disabled can enter the building without any assistance of third parties.

Minimum corridor width 120 cm, staircases minimum width 100 cm, maximum height of stairs 17 cm, equipped with handrails. Transport of the disabled with the size of 69 x 125 cm and load bearing capacity of 225 kg. Two lifts with appropriate movement space near the lift doors, cabins equipped with handrails, cabin size 132 x 100 cm and 112 x 77 cm, automatically opened doors.

There are 33 parking spaces in the car park and easy access to the lifts. Near the main entrance there are two restricted parking spaces for people staying at the Faculty.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
Persons with restricted mobility enter the building through a separate door located on the front wall of the building. The door is covered with access control system and visual monitoring, as well automatically opened by a security upon a signal from the external button. The door can also be launched by the disabled person equipped with access card or remote control. You can get to the basement level in the building through this entrance, using a ramp with small standard angle of inclination.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
Corridors, staircases and lifts are available for all users. A lift with proper cabin size for vertical transport is provided for people with restricted mobility. It stops at all building storeys where research, teaching and service activities are carried out. People in wheelchairs can move by the above-mentioned lift to every level from -1 to 5, where they can get to every room through a corridor, after entering the building to the basement level via the specially dedicated entrance. People in wheelchairs overcome the level differences on the ground floor and 5th floor using the wheelchair platforms and ramps.

On the ground floor and 5th floor there are two platforms for people in a wheelchair which enable them to overcome the level differences in corridors (3 steps) on their own. Platforms can be operated by the disabled person themselves, as well as by a service employee called via Intercom. There are 8 toilets adapted for the disabled in the building, one per each storey (and two on the ground floor), additionally equipped with a call system in the case when help is needed. The building has two passenger lifts in which external and internal control panels are equipped with tactile information in Braille for the blind.

The car park for the Faculty employees is adjacent to the building from the front part (Pl. Sejmu Śl.) with access control in the form of parking posts in each parking space. Keys to specific parking spaces are available in the building’s porter’s lodge. Additionally, in the immediate vicinity of the entrance for the disabled there is one special parking space - restricted parking space for vehicles of people with restricted mobility. You can arrive in this parking space easily via one-way street from ul. Jagiellońska. A publicly available municipal multi-user car park is located on the opposite side of the one-way street running along the building.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
Entrance to the building is equipped with a ramp for the disabled in line with the provisions, proper roofed movement area. Double automatic sliding door without thresholds is installed in the vestibule. There is a porter’s lodge right behind the main entrance.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
Corridors at every storey have suitable width from 2.40 cm to 3.70 cm in the widest point, which enables the person in a wheelchair or on crutches to move without obstacles. Stairs on the staircases are consistent with the requirements. The lift is adapted for the disabled and equipped with sensors that stop the door closure. Cabin width - 110 cm, cabin length - 210 cm. The cabin is equipped with a handrail and mirror. The control panel is in Braille and illuminated. The alarm signal in the lift is acoustic only.

The building has toilets adjusted for the disabled including alarm system (sound and light call system) in the event of fainting, as well as recovery room for the disabled, equipped with a bed, special table and computer station.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
We have two building entrances at the Faculty - one to the educational building, and one to the lecture hall. Both entrances are equipped with automatic sliding doors - operated by a motion sensor. There is a security post at each entrance. There are ramps for the disabled directly at the entrances. The vehicles are equipped with landings and protective barriers. The ramp surfaces are hardened and there are no thresholds impeding the entrance.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
The Faculty is equipped with publicly available stairs and corridors with the width above 140 cm. The building has 3 lifts adjusted for the disabled with automatic door opening. The lift ramps from the corridor halls are over 10 m2. It is possible to contact the security post.

The toilets for the disabled are equipped with “KALER” call systems connected with the security posts.

In the external premises of the Faculty there are 2 (free-of-charge) publicly available parking spaces for the disabled. The parking spaces are marked with horizontal and vertical signs. Access to the above-mentioned parking spaces is from ul. Bedzińska and ul. Lwowska.

Sign language interpreter
There is no sign language interpreter in the building, or possibility to use interpreter online. The need of contact with a sign language interpreter has to be reported at least 3 days before the planned visit.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
Entrance to the building to the ground floor level from the upper car park - diagonal platform near the flight of stairs equipped with a protective barrier, operated by the disabled person. Entrance to the bookshop and Dean’s Office from the upper car park - ramp with handrails. Entrance to the building to the ground floor from the lower car park - entrance to the building without curbs. 90-cm wide door opening inwards with the handle at the hand level of the person in a wheelchair. All entrances to the building for the disabled marked with graphic directional boards.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
Traffic routes and halls - their width is adapted for a physically fit person to pass easily a disabled person in a wheelchair. They are available at every building storey. Staircases - available for all building users. Passenger lifts - available for all building users, adapted for people with reduced mobility, stopping at every building storey. One of the passenger lift cabins has a special size for the disabled in a wheelchair. Lift cabins - equipped with mirrors on the wall opposite the entrance door, enabling the person in a wheelchair to check if there is any obstacle behind their back and they can leave the cabin safely. The storey numbers in lift cabins contain tactile information in Braille. The control elements inside the cabin and the external call button are placed at the hand level of the person in a wheelchair. The lift doors close and open automatically. They have a sensor that stops the door closure before the physical contact with an object or person. The lifts are equipped with sound signalling system informing about the cabin location.

Types of adaptations inside the building
The building has 5 toilets equipped with active call system for the disabled. There are building plans near the entrance to lifts at every storey - with marked “you are here” point.

Designated parking spaces for the disabled and the way to use them
Publicly available upper car park near the building - 3 designated parking spaces for the disabled, marked with a vertical sign and horizontal blue “envelope”. Convenient access to the car park from ul. Orla. Lower car park with access control in the form of entry and exit barrier - 1 designated parking space for the disabled marked with horizontal blue “envelope”. Access to the car park is provided by the security employee based on the authorising parking cards in the parking spaces for the disabled. Convenient access to the lower car park available from ul. Grota Roweckiego. At the entrance to the upper and lower car parks there are information boards indicating the direction to enter the parking spaces for the disabled.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
Near the main entrance to the building there is a ramp for the disabled. The doormats near the building entrance allow for entering the building in a wheelchair and have the suitable size for the wheels of a wheelchair and cane for the blind.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
The main hall of the building, corridors and toilets on the ground floor are available for the disabled.

Types of adaptations inside the building
No additional adaptations in the building.

No designated parking spaces.

Availability of entrance to the building and walking through the control areas
Near the building entrance on the right side there are two stairs and ramp with protective curbs. Near the building entrance there is a doormat at one level with the floor. The size of doormat mesh is suitable for the wheels of a wheelchair and cane for the blind. The doormat is not permanently fixed to the ground.

Availability of corridors, stairs and lifts
The building contains marked emergency escape routes in line with the provisions. The building does not have a passenger lift. The corridor width is suitable for people in wheelchairs.

Types of adaptations inside the building
No additional adaptations in the building.

Designated parking spaces for the disabled and the way to use them
There is 1 parking space for the disabled near the building. The parking space is connected with the pavement without barriers.
